Chocolate and Turkish Delight Cake

Delectable chocolate and almond cake with a delightful centre of Turkish Delight. Bliss.

Ingredients

  • 100g Butter, soft
  • 100g Brown sugar
  • 3each Eggs, separated 
  • 140g Lindt Excellence 70% Cocoa, melted and cooled 
  • 100g Almond meal 
  • 30g Plain flour
  • Pinch Chinese Five Spice- optional 
  • 50g Pistachio slivers 

 

 

  • Some Turkish Delight, rose flavour (enough to line a row into the cake)

 

 

Use a quality Turkish Delight for a great result.

Directions

    Preheat

    • The oven to 175°C

  • 2

    Cream

    • Together butter and the sugar.

  • 3

    Add

    • Egg yolks one at the time.

  • 4

    Stir in

    • The chocolate and scrape down the sides.

  • 5

    Mix

    • In dry ingredient.

      Whisk the egg whites to soft peaks and fold into the chocolate mix.

      Last fold in the pistachios

    Grease

    • And line the tin with baking paper.

    Put about

    • Half the mixture into the tin and place a line of Turkish Delight in the centre.

    Top

    • With remaining cake batter, ensuring the Turkish Delight is covered.

    Bake

    • For 25-30 minutes or until a skewer comes out clean.
