Turkish Delight is something truly decadent. The subtle and exotic note of rose water is a true while the chewy texture entices the senses.
Baked into this rich chocolate cake which keeps decadently moist due to the almond included makes this a truly delightful and celebration chocolate cake.
You can easily also create this as an individual dessert and bake the cake in a dariole mould with the piece of Turkish delight hidden in centre. Served with whipped cream with just a touch of cumin on top for a truly unique dessert.
Ingredients
- 100g Butter, soft
- 100g Brown sugar
- 3each Egg, separated
- 140g Lindt Excellence 70% Cocoa, melted and cooled
- 100g Almond meal
- 30g Plain flour
- Pinch Chinese Five Spice
- 50g Pistachio slivers
- Turkish Delight, rose flavour

Preheat the oven to 175°C

Cream together butter and the sugar. Add egg yolks one at the time. Add the chocolate and scrape down the sides. Mix in dry ingredient and last fold in the pistachios.

Butter and line a loaf tin with baking paper. Put about half the mixture into the tin and place a line of Turkish Delight in the centre.

Top with remaining cake batter, ensuring the Turkish Delight is covered Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a skewer comes out clean Dust generously with Icing sugar
